Homemade Tortillas
Most happy accidents in my house come from a massive craving and laziness of not wanting to go to the store. That is what happened with these. I must admit, I had always wanted to try making homemade tortillas. When I NEEDED a caesar chicken wrap one day…I had to make tortillas. So easy, they make so many, and were done so quickly! Try them out!
Homemade Tortillas
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1 cup hot water
Instructions
In a stand mixer (or bowl) mix flour, salt, and baking powder and mix. Add coconut oil and water and using dough hook or mixer....mix until dough ball forms.
Take the dough out of the bowl and place on a floured surface, then divide into 16 pieces (or less if you want bigger tortillas) and roll into balls.
Let rest 15 minutes or longer.
Once ready, roll out into a circle. Heat a cast iron on medium heat. When the pan is hot, place the tortilla on the pan. Let sit for 1 minute, flip and let sit for 30 seconds.
Enjoy!
